View file control network

Network-attached storage is a file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more accessible to networked devices.

About this task

See Understanding PowerMax File for storage systems for an overview of PowerMax File.

A File control network is a separate network for replication control communication. This network facilitates dedicated communication between source and destination for replication workflows.

NAS replication setup needs mesh connectivity between NAS entities participating in the replication that are configured as part of File control network.

Replication needs to provision N + 1 interface with one IP address each (where N represents number of nodes in the File cluster) and one interface for the File cluster.

NOTE: The File control network needs to be created both on the source and destination.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system that supports PowerMax File.
  2. Select Data Protection > File Protection.
  3. Select REPLICATION > FILE CONTROL NETWORK.
